Lamar Boggs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shirley Ezell having to interfere. In the 7th match minute, McGillivray FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leigh Siegel to maneuver through the defense. Lamar Boggs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Shirley Ezell made a huge save. Clinton Odonnell hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Lamar Boggs succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 14th playminute. When %teams%'s Howard Mayberry was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 2-0 just inside the left pole, 26 minutes into the game. Shirley Ezell was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Palmer Brooks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lewis Ventura, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristobal Rivera in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Palmer Brooks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lamar Boggs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shirley Ezell having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristobal Rivera to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Lamar Boggs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Didier Dillard kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Lamar Boggs hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Palmer Brooks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristobal Rivera in the 63rd minute of the match. Yong Autier kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristobal Rivera in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Palmer Brooks saved Newark AFC from getting behind. 74 minutes into the match, Newark AFC's goalkeeper Palmer Brooks had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lewis Ventura. Joseph Gates hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Rivera in the 78th minute of play forced Newark AFC's goalkeeper Palmer Brooks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, McGillivray FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lamar Boggs came free, but Shirley Ezell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shirley Ezell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Howard Mayberry's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in McGillivray FC's zone, Lamar Boggs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shirley Ezell came out of the goal and Lamar Boggs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 90 minutes McGillivray FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wilburn Marcus who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of McGillivray FC's goalie and right to Lamar Boggs. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. McGillivray FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Lamar Boggs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Shirley Ezell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Howard Mayberry came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Newark AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Howard Mayberry couldn't finish the play. Newark AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
