Spectators: 6732 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 0) Newark AFC's Howard Mayberry started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Howard Mayberry in the 3rd minute of play forced Chauvin's goalkeeper Scott Ring to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 7 minutes, Mark Richardson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chauvin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Richardson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Howard Mayberry blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Scott Ring having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Chauvin's zone, Lamar Boggs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Scott Ring came out of the goal and Lamar Boggs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12thth minute of the game Howard Mayberry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chauvin's Scott Ring was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Mark Richardson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 minutes, Yong Autier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newark AFC and the Chauvin players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Chauvin booed when Newark AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yong Autier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Palmer Brooks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Morgan Sampson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Newark AFC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Yong Autier hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Lamar Boggs left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newark AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Morgan Sampson scored 1-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Palmer Brooks, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A hard shot 28 in the game by Howard Mayberry from a close distance when the talented Scott Ring managed to make a qualified save. Chauvin's players were relieved. In the 31st minute, Lamar Boggs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute Howard Mayberry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scott Ring saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Morgan Sampson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lamar Boggs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reyes Fletcher's late challenge caught a Newark AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reyes Fletcher helped the player get up and apologised. Reyes Fletcher kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Lamar Boggs struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Scott Ring didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newark AFC.

Palmer Brooks was a little too slow when Morgan Sampson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-2. When Morgan Sampson came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Chauvin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Morgan Sampson couldn't finish the play. Morgan Sampson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mark Richardson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Morgan Sampson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the match, Mark Richardson notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Newark AFC's Palmer Brooks. Palmer Brooks was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Morgan Sampson came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Chauvin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Morgan Sampson couldn't finish the play. In the 87th minute, Mark Richardson fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience was convinced that Morgan Sampson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Palmer Brooks was relentless in the 89th minute of the game.
