The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, McGillivray FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leigh Siegel to maneuver through the defense. When Franklyn Fugate fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored McGillivray FC's protests and gave Franklyn Fugate a yellow card for diving instead. Franklyn Fugate hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After 7 played minutes McGillivray FC got a freekick which was hit by Franklyn Fugate. Armand Vinson hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. When Delmar Vinson came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Harrowby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delmar Vinson couldn't finish the play. McGillivray FC's Shirley Ezell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Helton in the 14th minute of play. When Harrowby's Delmar Vinson in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye McGillivray FC's goalie prevented a goal. Young Humphries charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Young Humphries the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to McGillivray FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Young Humphries hit a great ball. Lewis Ventura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Calvin Presley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 26 minutes, Lewis Ventura made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Harrowby's Calvin Presley tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Elden Riquier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shirley Ezell having to interfere. Shirley Ezell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Helton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Osvaldo Helton scored 1-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shirley Ezell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Harrowby's goalkeeper Calvin Presley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 42 played minutes McGillivray FC got a freekick which was hit by Franklyn Fugate. Shirley Ezell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Delmar Vinson went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Franklyn Fugate hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. In the 49th minute Harrowby were awarded a corner. Buford Davidson went to the cornerflag to take it. Buford Davidson made a great header on Harrowby's corner, it was just that McGillivray FC's Shirley Ezell managed to reach the ball for a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristobal Rivera made a kick off. When Delmar Vinson came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Harrowby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delmar Vinson couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Osvaldo Helton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Harrowby's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldo Helton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shirley Ezell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Calvin Presley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lewis Ventura in the 71st minute of the match. Delmar Vinson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute, Delmar Vinson made a precise shot to the right of Shirley Ezell. McGillivray FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Shirley Ezell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delmar Vinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delmar Vinson in the 82nd minute of play forced McGillivray FC's goalkeeper Shirley Ezell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leigh Siegel charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With a little luck, McGillivray FC's Shirley Ezell got control of the ball when Osvaldo Helton tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Harrowby's Burton Hawley got a free kick in the 97th minute. Armand Vinson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Calvin Presley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play.
