Sirdar Stadium
Spectators: 6732 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 0) Sirdar's Gautier Landis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Philbert Larkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Philbert Larkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gautier Landis in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henry Byers saved Marlboro from getting behind. Leonardo Lapierre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Philbert Larkin in the 9th minute of the match. If Wayne Hopson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Sirdar booed when Marlboro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terrance Williamson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emery Proulx's late challenge caught a Marlboro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emery Proulx helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 played minutes Sirdar got a freekick which was hit by Emery Proulx. The audience was convinced that Herbert Lee's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henry Byers was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. In the 30th minute, Sirdar's Gautier Landis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Philbert Larkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Lapierre having to interfere. Leonardo Lapierre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philbert Larkin in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Marlboro's Philbert Larkin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonardo Lapierre made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Philbert Larkin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Philbert Larkin made a kick off. After 53 minutes Sirdar's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tyrone Grady who took care of the corner kick. Darin McNeal kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Leonardo Lapierre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philbert Larkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Sirdar's Leonardo Lapierre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philbert Larkin in the 61st minute of play. Wayne Hopson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Lapierre having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Marlboro's Philbert Larkin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leonardo Lapierre narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wayne Hopson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Sirdar's goal looked a bit too open when Philbert Larkin came free, but Leonardo Lapierre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The long shot by Vaughn Ramos in the 76th minute really tested Leonardo Lapierre's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Marc Estrada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Henry Byers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philbert Larkin in the 86th minute of play forced Sirdar's goalkeeper Leonardo Lapierre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, Vaughn Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Sirdar's Leonardo Lapierre got control of the ball when Wayne Hopson tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Philbert Larkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marlboro's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Sirdar had won, even though Marlboro had held more of the ball.
