After 12 minutes, Bryon Comer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cobourg FC and the Whitworth AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bryon Comer hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. If Thibault Draper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gene Shepard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Whitworth AFC's Burt Benoit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laverne Stevens in the 18th minute of play. Thibault Draper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clinton Stovall having to interfere. After some careless play in the Whitworth AFC defense, Roch Acosta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Burt Benoit. The Whitworth AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Burt Benoit should have stopped the shot. Clinton Stovall stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gene Shepard's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Cobourg FC's Clinton Stovall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Cobourg FC from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laverne Stevens to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Roch Acosta notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Whitworth AFC's Burt Benoit. Burt Benoit was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 68 played minutes Cobourg FC got a freekick which was hit by Newton Rowell. 70 minutes into the match, Cobourg FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gene Shepard came free, but Clinton Stovall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodrick Foley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gene Shepard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Clinton Stovall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clinton Stovall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thibault Draper in the 80th minute of the match. Dominique Hernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Burt Benoit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laverne Stevens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute, Roch Acosta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Burt Benoit was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The Cobourg FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
