Spectators: 6726 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kasey Espinoza started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute Dimitri Masson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Hatch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 0-1 became the score in the 13th minute when Kasey Espinoza elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Dimitri Masson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Robert Hatch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robert Hatch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitri Masson, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Dimitri Masson made the kick off in the second half. Vicente Mata hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Frédéric Powers's late challenge caught a Varennes AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frédéric Powers helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Varennes AFC booed when Churchill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frédéric Powers didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 53 played minutes, Varennes AFC's Fernand Garza shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rainier Regan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Varennes AFC reached it. Gonzalo Favreau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Hatch having to interfere. Logan Lespérance recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Vicente Mata came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Churchill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Mata couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Gonzalo Favreau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Churchill's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonzalo Favreau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robert Hatch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dimitri Masson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 minutes, Dimitri Masson made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Varennes AFC's Robert Hatch tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Frédéric Powers kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kasey Espinoza in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rainier Regan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In a very dangerous position, a player in Varennes AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Gonzalo Favreau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Robert Hatch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Churchill's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
