Nestor Carver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. King Strange struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Rory Shockley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ottawa. With a little luck, Fontas's Rory Shockley got control of the ball when King Strange tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 19 minutes of play, Ottawa's King Strange made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rory Shockley was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Ottawa's King Strange got a free kick in the 24th minute. Barnabé Flanagan kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. When Leslie Gareau came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Fontas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leslie Gareau couldn't finish the play. After 29 minutes, Barnabé Flanagan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ottawa and the Fontas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Barnabé Flanagan hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Julio Buck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 31 played minutes Ottawa got a freekick which was hit by Barnabé Flanagan. In the 33rd minute Julio Buck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jasper Jarvis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alva Hamilton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jasper Jarvis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Buck might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jasper Jarvis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julio Buck ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nestor Carver to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by King Strange in the 62nd minute of play forced Fontas's goalkeeper Rory Shockley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alva Hamilton in the 70th minute of play forced Ottawa's goalkeeper Jasper Jarvis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jasper Jarvis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alva Hamilton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jasper Jarvis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alva Hamilton in the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th minute King Strange shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rory Shockley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jasper Jarvis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alva Hamilton's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Jasper Jarvis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julio Buck in the 80th minute. Julio Buck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jasper Jarvis having to interfere. Barnabé Flanagan was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Barnabé Flanagan kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After 92 minutes, Alva Hamilton made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ottawa's Jasper Jarvis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Buck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Fontas walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
