Nolan Felton was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Sprague FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jared Sheppard came free, but Eldon McCarty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 22nd minute by Bernard Hawk got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 24th minute Taylor Jetté shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelino Rowan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 25 minutes, Lyman Key managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hastings FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lyman Key was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lyman Key fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eldon McCarty having to interfere. In the 30th minute Lyman Key shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eldon McCarty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Taylor Jetté had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Sprague FC's Marcelino Rowan threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Taylor Jetté, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jared Sheppard made a kick off. Marcelino Rowan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Taylor Jetté's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. If Lyman Key had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reid Savoie charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reid Savoie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
