In the 19th minute, Dominique Couture left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bonnyville fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Lyman Key had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 minutes, Dominique Couture made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Hastings FC's Marcelino Rowan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Dominique Couture had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelino Rowan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dominique Couture's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Anibal Trevino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelino Rowan having to make a save. Jared Sheppard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 39 minutes, Matthieu Cline mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bonnyville and the Hastings FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Matthieu Cline kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Jared Sheppard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Dominique Couture made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lyman Key in the 53rd minute of play forced Bonnyville's goalkeeper Melvin Carver to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hastings FC's Jared Sheppard got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dominique Couture received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Marcelino Rowan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anibal Trevino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dominique Couture recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Hastings FC defense, Anibal Trevino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelino Rowan. The Hastings FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelino Rowan should have stopped the shot. In the 86th minute, Jared Sheppard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Melvin Carver was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Lyman Key recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Melvin Carver showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lyman Key in the 95th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Bonnyville's zone, Jared Sheppard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melvin Carver came out of the goal and Jared Sheppard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Bonnyville supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bonnyville would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
