To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Sprague FC booed when Fontas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alain Yates didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fontas's goalkeeper Rory Shockley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rory Shockley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taylor Jetté in the 21st minute of the match. Julian Tyler hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernard Hawk got free with Rory Shockley in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rory Shockley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Taylor Jetté, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alva Hamilton took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eldon McCarty. Eldon McCarty dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Sprague FC's zone, Julio Buck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eldon McCarty came out of the goal and Julio Buck tried to chip the ball over his head. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alva Hamilton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Fontas's goal looked a bit too open when Bernard Hawk came free, but Rory Shockley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernard Hawk blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rory Shockley having to make a save. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taylor Jetté couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Sprague FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fontas:s goal. The Fontas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
