Turin's Parker McDowell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theodore Dalton in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th minute Theodore Dalton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Parker McDowell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hubert Snider charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hubert Snider the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Shunacadie AFC! In the 14th match minute, Shunacadie AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efren Talbot to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Shunacadie AFC's Bruce Lemelin got control of the ball when Gayle Manley tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mark Greene received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Parker McDowell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mark Greene blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Parker McDowell having to make a save. If Royal Wilburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theodore Dalton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kent Francoeur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Bruce Lemelin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shunacadie AFC's Efren Talbot got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bruce Lemelin was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Gayle Manley capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gayle Manley really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Gayle Manley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Bruce Lemelin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kent Francoeur was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Kent Francoeur ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruce Lemelin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. A collision led to Turin getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Royal Wilburn hit a great ball. Parker McDowell made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Theodore Dalton sent off a good shot on target. 61 minutes into the match, Turin's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Greene came free, but Parker McDowell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Turin's zone, Theodore Dalton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Parker McDowell came out of the goal and Theodore Dalton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th match minute, Turin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Royal Wilburn to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute of the match, Mark Greene tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Parker McDowell saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Kent Francoeur charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Kent Francoeur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruce Lemelin having to interfere. After some careless play in the Shunacadie AFC defense, Kent Francoeur kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruce Lemelin. The Shunacadie AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruce Lemelin should have stopped the shot. If Mark Greene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shunacadie AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
