Markstay's Keenan McHugh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Blanco in the 9th minute of play. Brenton Brandt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnie Griffith having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jason Harper's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johnie Griffith was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Cann AFC's Wes Carrillo got a free kick in the 15th minute. Johnie Griffith made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jason Harper in the 16th minute of play. Brenton Brandt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnie Griffith having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Brenton Brandt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johnie Griffith was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Russel Reese's late challenge caught a Cann AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Russel Reese helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Demetrius Beauchesne in the 28th minute of play forced Markstay's goalkeeper Keenan McHugh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnie Griffith made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brenton Brandt in the 34th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Markstay's Jason Harper sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Johnie Griffith narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Johnie Griffith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brenton Brandt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brenton Brandt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnie Griffith having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Cann AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jason Harper came free, but Johnie Griffith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jose Blanco was the one to do the kick off. Keenan McHugh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Blanco in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Solomon Dubose got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Keenan McHugh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melvin Lester, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Jason Harper struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Johnie Griffith didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Markstay. When Solomon Dubose fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cann AFC's protests and gave Solomon Dubose a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Markstay booed when Cann AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Solomon Dubose didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Russel Reese sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cann AFC's Johnie Griffith didn't even have to move. Brenton Brandts short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Johnie Griffith to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Wes Carrillo fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cann AFC's protests and gave Wes Carrillo a yellow card for diving instead. After 74 played minutes Cann AFC got a freekick which was hit by Wes Carrillo. Markstay were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Cann AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Russel Reese took the corner. Markstay's Russel Reese was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Johnie Griffith in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Keenan McHugh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Blanco, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Melvin Lester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 83 minutes into the match, Markstay's goal looked a bit too open when Jose Blanco came free, but Keenan McHugh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jason Harper recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brenton Brandt got free with Johnie Griffith in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Markstay's Jason Harper slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Johnie Griffith. That made the score 0-2 after 90 minutes of play.
