César Carney showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Donovan Sheridan struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Omar Wright didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lunenburg AFC. Felipe Cortes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Carney in the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donovan Sheridan made a kick off. Roman Gauthier hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute César Carney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipe Cortes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
