Hatton FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 14th minute Florence Bliss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kirby Champagne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rosendo Petty stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vernon Burris's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute, Jeff Marleau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Pedro Hurd came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Hatton FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Hurd couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Canol AFC's zone, Vernon Burris stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rosendo Petty came out of the goal and Vernon Burris tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cedrick Bledsoe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Apollinaire Pham didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Hatton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cedrick Bledsoe came free, but Kirby Champagne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Canol AFC's Rosendo Petty got control of the ball when Vernon Burris tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hatton FC played a much better game than Canol AFC and deserved their victory. The Canol AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
