But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Garrett Carlisle couldn't finish the play. Jeff Weeks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Acme FC's Garret Burgess proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Acme FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Meductic AFC's zone, Darius Fluet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Seth Paquette came out of the goal and Darius Fluet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Meductic AFC's Seth Paquette played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Georges Crain in the 21st minute of play. Jeff Weeks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeff Weeks got free with Garret Burgess in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Seth Paquette showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darius Fluet in the 26th minute of the match. A collision led to Meductic AFC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Trenton Castro hit a great ball. Acme FC's Garret Burgess proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Acme FC from getting a goal against them. Garret Burgess made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeff Weeks in the 36th minute. Meductic AFC's Garrett Carlisle got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Garrett Carlisle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Meductic AFC's Jeff Weeks got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Georges Crain made a kick off. Rico Boucher might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Garret Burgess. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rico Boucher ran back to his position shaking his head. Georges Crain's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Seth Paquette read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Seth Paquette made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jared Grady in the 57th minute. After 57 played minutes Meductic AFC got a freekick which was hit by Howard Riquier. Seth Paquette was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Georges Crain capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Georges Crain really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. 63 minutes into the match, Jeff Weeks had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Garret Burgess. Acme FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeff Weeks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Jeff Weeks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute, Garrett Carlisle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Acme FC's goalkeeper Garret Burgess, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Jeff Weeks made a precise shot to the right of Garret Burgess. Acme FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. When Garrett Carlisle came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Meductic AFC fans jumped to their feet. Acme FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Georges Crain was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Seth Paquette breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brock Cherry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Seth Paquette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute Jeff Weeks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garret Burgess saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Acme FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
