The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eliseo McFarland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Marcelino Garnier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnoldo Beaver charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arnoldo Beaver the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 8 played minutes Thetford got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Beaver. Eliseo McFarland kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After a good free kick, Eliseo McFarland got an opportunity to smash the ball into the goal, but unfortunately, the ball went just outside the goal, which resulted in a goal kick for Bethany. If Ambroise Caldwell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 16 played minutes Bethany got a freekick which was hit by Marius Ratté. 21 minutes into the match, Dion Fagan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcelino Garnier. Bethany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dion Fagan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Allan Grimard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jimmy Dennis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Bethany's Ambroise Caldwell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jimmy Dennis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Allan Grimard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Dennis having to interfere. Ambroise Caldwell succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Landon Busch hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After 43 played minutes, Bethany's Toney Parish shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jimmy Dennis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bethany reached it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dion Fagan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Allan Grimard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Jimmy Dennis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jimmy Dennis came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Bethany's Rico Hutchinson. But to his dismay, Rico Hutchinson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 59th minute, Marius Ratté hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Grimard in the 67th minute of play forced Thetford's goalkeeper Jimmy Dennis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Thetford's Landon Busch got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 71stth minute of the game Ambroise Caldwell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Thetford's Jimmy Dennis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eliseo McFarland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Allan Grimard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Jimmy Dennis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jimmy Dennis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Grimard in the 96th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bethany fans cheered their team off the field, for while Thetford had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
