Nicholas Faucher in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Robert Winters, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 17 played minutes, Auteuil FC's Emory Blanchard shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jose Paul came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Auteuil FC reached it. A collision led to Chibougamau getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Marty Audet hit a great ball. After 24 minutes, Bernie Capps made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Auteuil FC's Robert Winters tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 29th minute Elbert Engle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Paul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 played minutes Chibougamau got a freekick which was hit by Harrison Robillard. If Erick Post had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elbert Engle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jose Paul having to make a save. In the 40th minute Elbert Engle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Paul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Erick Post got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Auteuil FC were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Chibougamau's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antione Jewell took the corner. After a rather tough play, Chibougamau's Lyle Jolly got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Erick Post had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erick Post could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Jose Paul made a huge save. Elbert Engle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jose Paul having to make a save. If Erick Post had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Auteuil FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nicholas Faucher came free, but Robert Winters reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Chibougamau's Jose Paul got control of the ball when Erick Post tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jose Paul was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Elbert Engle capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Elbert Engle really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Auteuil FC's Robert Winters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernie Capps in the 85th minute of play. Elbert Engle might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jose Paul. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elbert Engle ran back to his position shaking his head. When Rodger Lassiter fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Auteuil FC's protests and gave Rodger Lassiter a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute, Rodger Lassiter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Erick Post had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
