When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Armando Riel put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Fredric Duran. Fredric Duran made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Armando Riel sent off a good shot on target. 14 minutes into the game, one of Labrieville AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 21st minute Ulrich Schroeder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Herbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Midhurst's Garfield McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ulrich Schroeder took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised William Herbert. William Herbert dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Garfield McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. William Herbert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Garfield McDonald notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Labrieville AFC's William Herbert. William Herbert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A hard and well directed shot from Tyrell Coles led 39 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Midhurst's Fredric Duran became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 2-3. Midhurst's Fredric Duran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Abbott in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Midhurst were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With an all-out effort, Midhurst's William Herbert threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Garfield McDonald, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Labrieville AFC's William Herbert got control of the ball when Ulrich Schroeder tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fredric Duran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Riel, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute, Florencio Abbott made a precise shot to the right of Fredric Duran. Midhurst's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. Armando Riel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Duran having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florencio Abbott in the 66th minute of play forced Midhurst's goalkeeper Fredric Duran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Midhurst's Fredric Duran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Abbott in the 73rd minute of play. In the 81st minute, Florencio Abbott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the game, Labrieville AFC's Armando Riel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fredric Duran made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Labrieville AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Midhurst had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
