One of Busby FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Churchill:s goal. In the 9th minute there was a penalty for Churchill. Géraud Funk stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rickey Pool. 0-1. Herbert Tipton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hubert Aucoin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carrol Park, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 16 played minutes Churchill got a freekick which was hit by Perry Grady. Elias Purcell shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When Steve Waters came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Busby FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steve Waters couldn't finish the play. Nolan Murdock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steve Waters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hubert Aucoin having to interfere. Nolan Murdock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rickey Pool having to interfere. Ahmad Odonnell hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Carrol Park's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hubert Aucoin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Rickey Pool made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Perry Grady sent off a good shot on target. After 65 played minutes Churchill got a freekick which was hit by Ahmad Odonnell. Carrol Park received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Hubert Aucoin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hector Moss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rickey Pool having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Carrol Park's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hubert Aucoin was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carrol Park in the 77th minute of play forced Churchill's goalkeeper Hubert Aucoin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Busby FC's zone, Hector Moss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rickey Pool came out of the goal and Hector Moss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rickey Pool showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nolan Murdock in the 91st minute of the match. The Churchill supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Churchill would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
