Spectators: 6719 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the match, Busby FC's Carrol Park sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Johnny Epperson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Truman Lawson took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rickey Pool to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Busby FC's Rickey Pool got control of the ball when Weston Ervin tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Truman Lawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Carrol Park left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Busby FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Hondo's Truman Lawson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rickey Pool. That made the score 2-1 after 20 minutes of play. Steve Waters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Johnny Epperson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jess Maynard charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 38thth minute of the game Herbert Tipton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hondo's Johnny Epperson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carrol Park to strike the kick off in the second half. Herbert Tipton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Epperson having to interfere. Eustaquio Gibbons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rickey Pool having to interfere. In the 62nd minute of the match Elias Purcell sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johnny Epperson skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carrol Park in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnny Epperson saved Hondo from getting behind. Hondo's Weston Ervin got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Busby FC's zone, Andy Flores stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rickey Pool came out of the goal and Andy Flores tried to chip the ball over his head. Busby FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herbert Tipton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Herbert Tipton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Johnny Epperson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
