The penalty shot was made by Daniel Deschenes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hondo's Johnny Epperson. 0-3. 0-4 became the score in the 28th minute when Landon Horn elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddie Rowley in the 32nd minute of play forced Hondo's goalkeeper Johnny Epperson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Landon Horn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johnny Epperson was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Hondo's Johnny Epperson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Landon Horn in the 40th minute of play. Heath Dawkins charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Landon Horn might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johnny Epperson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Landon Horn ran back to his position shaking his head. Johnny Epperson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddie Rowley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
