Freddy McNair fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Riley Doyon having to interfere. 6 minutes into the match, Bashaw's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy McNair came free, but Riley Doyon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th minute, Franklin Holcomb hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute Gérald Marks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Riley Doyon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Riley Doyon came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Catalina AFC's Gérald Marks. But to his dismay, Gérald Marks quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Bashaw's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy McNair came free, but Riley Doyon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Bashaw getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Franklin Holcomb hit a great ball. If Lacy Gallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lacy Gallo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donn Courtney having to interfere. Sang Weston kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 25th match minute, Catalina AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pasquale Brewer to maneuver through the defense. Donn Courtney acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 26th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Derrick Carrasco. Gérald Marks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Riley Doyon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lacy Gallo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donn Courtney having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Chauvet in the 38th minute of play forced Catalina AFC's goalkeeper Donn Courtney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lacy Gallo struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Donn Courtney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bashaw. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Chauvet in the 43rd minute of play forced Catalina AFC's goalkeeper Donn Courtney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bashaw's André Chauvet got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Catalina AFC defense, Lacy Gallo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donn Courtney. The Catalina AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donn Courtney should have stopped the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Chauvet to make the kick off. Freddy McNair's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Riley Doyon firmly grabbed it by the left post. Donn Courtney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lacy Gallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 62nd minute, Lacy Gallo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 70th minute, Lacy Gallo made a precise shot to the right of Donn Courtney. Catalina AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gérald Marks in the 73rd minute of play forced Bashaw's goalkeeper Riley Doyon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bashaw's goalkeeper Riley Doyon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Lacy Gallo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bashaw's supporters rose to their feet, but Lacy Gallo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donn Courtney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nolan Hétu got free with Riley Doyon in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Bashaw getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Franklin Holcomb hit a great ball. Freddy McNair struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Riley Doyon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catalina AFC. Catalina AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
