Max Beaver recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Waterville AFC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Sherwood Dailey hit a great ball. Lacy Gallo charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lacy Gallo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Bashaw's Lacy Gallo got a free kick in the 17th minute. The supporters of Waterville AFC booed when Bashaw was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franklin Holcomb didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute Max Beaver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Riley Doyon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Fidel Miles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bashaw's Riley Doyon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Beaver in the 27th minute of play. Kermit Durham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Chauvet in the 32nd minute of the match. Fidel Miles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Riley Doyon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Max Beaver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Bashaw's Riley Doyon got control of the ball when Fidel Miles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Max Beaver was the one to do the kick off. If Max Beaver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 60 played minutes Bashaw got a freekick which was hit by Garry Eubanks. In the 62nd minute, Scotty McCloud sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Bashaw's Riley Doyon didn't even have to move. If Fidel Miles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 70 minutes, Sherwood Dailey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Waterville AFC and the Bashaw players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lacy Gallo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Kermit Durham made a huge save. Chants of Bashaw echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Waterville AFC had held the ball for most of the match.
