Pierre Bland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Jarrett in the 4th minute of the match. In the 4th minute, Alfonso Clarke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jeremiah Dietz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Willard Thorpe hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 16thth minute of the game Fabrice Cummins who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villemontel's Elijah Bertrand was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Fabrice Cummins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrice Cummins hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After having played for 33 minutes, Richard Jarrett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villemontel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Jarrett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Villemontel booed when Saskatoon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willard Thorpe didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 39 played minutes Neil Alford shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Saskatoon FC's Pierre Bland to catch but Neil Alford was lucky. It became 1-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Richard Jarrett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre Bland having to interfere. If Richard Jarrett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 minutes of play Saskatoon FC's Willard Thorpe was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Pierre Bland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Jarrett, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Richard Jarrett made a kick off. Saskatoon FC's Pierre Bland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Jarrett in the 57th minute of play. When Jeremiah Dietz came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Villemontel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremiah Dietz couldn't finish the play. Pierre Bland didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Richard Jarrett went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 79th minute Richard Jarrett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierre Bland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richard Jarrett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre Bland having to interfere. When Jeremiah Dietz came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Villemontel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremiah Dietz couldn't finish the play. The Saskatoon FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Villemontel's performance. The match ended with a win for Villemontel.
