With an extended leg and a bit of luck Danny Horner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Hartell's Roland Means in the 8th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Corin McKay was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Hondo through an amazing save. In the 14th minute, Salvatore Minton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 22 played minutes Roland Means rounded Hondo's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, Esmé Huff notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Hartell's Danny Horner. Danny Horner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hartell's Roland Means got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 33 minutes, Barney Kyle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hondo and the Hartell players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Hondo got a freekick which was hit by Barney Kyle. Corin McKay made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Salvatore Minton sent off a good shot on target. Hartell's Danny Horner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Winston Elder in the 35th minute of play. Winston Elder might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Danny Horner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Winston Elder ran back to his position shaking his head. Esmé Huff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Horner having to interfere. Danny Horner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esmé Huff, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Roland Means struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Corin McKay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hartell. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Esmé Huff to strike the kick off in the second half. Hartell's Roland Means got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After taking down the ball on Hondo's corner Urbain Ramirez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Danny Horner quite easily take care of the ball. Rémy Racicot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Winston Elder's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 69thth minute, Danny Horner skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 71 minutes into the match, Hartell's goalkeeper Danny Horner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Esmé Huff. In the 87th minute, Rémy Racicot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 93 played minutes Hartell got a freekick which was hit by Godelieve Hawthorne. After having played for 95 minutes, Esmé Huff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hondo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Esmé Huff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
