The audience thought a goal was coming when George Gomez got free with Elijah Bertrand in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Garland Duff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Villemontel's Elijah Bertrand proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Villemontel from getting a goal against them. Grant Cano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elijah Bertrand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garland Duff, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Waterford AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremiah Dietz came free, but Blaise Wheeler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Garland Duff, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 24 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Elijah Bertrand was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Richard Jarrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Blaise Wheeler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Richard Jarrett went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 38th minute Richard Jarrett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blaise Wheeler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Richard Jarrett made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, George Gomez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Elijah Bertrand was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Elijah Bertrand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Gomez, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. The supporters of Waterford AFC booed when Villemontel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Davis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeremiah Dietz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Blaise Wheeler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. George Gomez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Villemontel's Elijah Bertrand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garland Duff in the 72nd minute of play. After 74 played minutes Villemontel got a freekick which was hit by Neil Alford. After 82 played minutes Villemontel got a freekick which was hit by Grant Cano. George Gomez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jeremiah Dietz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd match minute, Waterford AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herb Begin to maneuver through the defense. In the 98th minute, Villemontel's Richard Jarrett ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Blaise Wheeler. Blaise Wheeler yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Villemontel eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
