Pierre Bland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Means in the 11th minute of the match. Salvatore Minton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Pierre Bland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saskatoon FC's Pierre Bland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Means in the 16th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roland Means in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pierre Bland saved Saskatoon FC from getting behind. Saskatoon FC's Pierre Bland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Means in the 22nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Salvatore Minton in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pierre Bland saved Saskatoon FC from getting behind. 31 minutes into the game, Spencer Gleason was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saskatoon FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hartell the free kick. After having played for 32 minutes, Salvatore Minton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hartell's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salvatore Minton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hartell's Danny Horner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrice Cummins in the 36th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Spencer Gleason managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saskatoon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Spencer Gleason was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Danny Horner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pierre Bland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Means in the 41st minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabrice Cummins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Saskatoon FC's Spencer Gleason got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hartell's Danny Horner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrice Cummins in the 60th minute of play. Salvatore Minton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roland Means received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pierre Bland came out and tried to block the shot, but Roland Means slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spencer Gleason in the 76th minute of play forced Hartell's goalkeeper Danny Horner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute, Spencer Gleason ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Danny Horner was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Saskatoon FC's Pierre Bland proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Saskatoon FC from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Saskatoon FC defense, Salvatore Minton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pierre Bland. The Saskatoon FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pierre Bland should have stopped the shot. Salvatore Minton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre Bland having to interfere. When the match was over Hartell could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Saskatoon FC throughout the match.
