But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremiah Dietz couldn't finish the play. Jeremiah Dietz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Tommy Laframboise skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jeremiah Dietz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Wiseton AFC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Shirley Simms hit a great ball. Neil Alford shot from long distance in the 22nd minute, but Tommy Laframboise was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Clemente Stockton got his second yellow card in the match during the 22nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Richard Jarrett struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Tommy Laframboise didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villemontel. After 28 minutes of play, Wiseton AFC's Yong Leon made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elijah Bertrand was left in no man's land by his defense there! 32 minutes into the match, Villemontel's goal looked a bit too open when Denis McMahon came free, but Elijah Bertrand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis McMahon in the 37th minute of play forced Villemontel's goalkeeper Elijah Bertrand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Neil Alford fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villemontel's protests and gave Neil Alford a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Neil Alford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Villemontel players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Wiseton AFC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denis McMahon to make the kick off. The Villemontel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elijah Bertrand should have stopped the shot. Wiseton AFC's Tommy Laframboise played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremiah Dietz in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Wiseton AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yong Leon to maneuver through the defense. Jeremiah Dietz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Tommy Laframboise tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
