An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Jarrett in the 5th minute of play forced Hondo's goalkeeper Corin McKay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hondo's zone, Richard Jarrett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Corin McKay came out of the goal and Richard Jarrett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Herbert White fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villemontel's protests and gave Herbert White a yellow card for diving instead. Herbert White hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. When Hondo's Winston Elder in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Villemontel's goalie prevented a goal. In the 13th play minute Jeremiah Dietz came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Corin McKay. 1-0. Hondo's Corin McKay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Hondo from getting a goal against them. If Richard Jarrett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the game, Sebastian Crowley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hondo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villemontel the free kick. Jeremiah Dietz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corin McKay having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Jeremiah Dietz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elijah Bertrand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Winston Elder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jeremiah Dietz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeremiah Dietz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corin McKay having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Esmé Huff made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rémy Racicot during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Corin McKay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Jarrett in the 56th minute of play. Esmé Huff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 61 minutes into the match, Hondo's Esmé Huff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elijah Bertrand narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Benton Roberts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 70 played minutes Villemontel got a freekick which was hit by Grant Cano. Winston Elder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Winston Elder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Hondo booed when Villemontel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grant Cano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeremiah Dietz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Corin McKay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grant Cano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corin McKay having to interfere. After 83 minutes, Grant Cano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Villemontel and the Hondo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 84 played minutes Villemontel got a freekick which was hit by Grant Cano. 96 minutes into the match, Hondo's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremiah Dietz came free, but Corin McKay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Villemontel fully deserved thier win.
