The supporters of Waterford AFC booed when Saskatoon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrice Cummins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Spencer Gleason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Blaise Wheeler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Fabrice Cummins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Blaise Wheeler was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Spencer Gleason in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Blaise Wheeler, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Blaise Wheeler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrice Cummins in the 30th minute of the match. After 33 minutes, Willard Thorpe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saskatoon FC and the Waterford AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Saskatoon FC got a freekick which was hit by Willard Thorpe. If Garland Duff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Curtis Poe fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Waterford AFC's protests and gave Curtis Poe a yellow card for diving instead. Curtis Poe hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Fabrice Cummins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Garland Duff to strike the kick off in the second half. Saskatoon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Spencer Gleason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. George Gomez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pierre Bland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Fabrice Cummins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blaise Wheeler having to interfere. Pierre Bland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garland Duff, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. After 95 played minutes Saskatoon FC got a freekick which was hit by Willard Thorpe. Pierre Bland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garland Duff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
