In the 17th minute, Rodolphe Rucker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Minh Bledsoe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Middlebro AFC's Cedric Waller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Collins in the 21st minute of play. Virgilio Cornell's late challenge caught a Dover's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Virgilio Cornell helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Dover booed when Middlebro AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgilio Cornell didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blair Goodwin in the 24th minute of play forced Middlebro AFC's goalkeeper Cedric Waller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Benjamin Collins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cedric Waller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodolphe Rucker who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Minh Bledsoe when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Blair Goodwin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cedric Waller read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Odis Ledford ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Minh Bledsoe was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. When Maxwell Hahn fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dover's protests and gave Maxwell Hahn a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Dover fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! Minh Bledsoe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Odis Ledford in the 47th minute of play.

Cedric Waller made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Benjamin Collins sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Dover getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Ignace Dube hit a great ball. Minh Bledsoe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolphe Rucker in the 59th minute of play. If Rodolphe Rucker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Middlebro AFC's Odis Ledford got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodolphe Rucker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Minh Bledsoe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Dover fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Dover's Benjamin Collins looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Benjamin Collins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maxwell Hahn got his second yellow card in the match during the 94th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 94 minutes into the game, one of Dover:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dover's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
