The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Randy Salter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Numbers Summers having to interfere. Randy Salter's late challenge caught a Bondiss AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Randy Salter helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bondiss AFC booed when Renews was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Randy Salter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Numbers Summers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldo Simms in the 10th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Waldo Simms shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Numbers Summers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Danial McKay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Numbers Summers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 15 played minutes Renews got a freekick which was hit by Shane Duff. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Charles Irizarry in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chi Coffman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. During the 18th minute of the match Randy Salter completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Randy Salter a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Renews getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Randy Salter hit a great ball. If Truman Hoskins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Irizarry in the 21st minute of play forced Renews's goalkeeper Chi Coffman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charles Irizarry in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chi Coffman saved Renews from getting behind. If Danial McKay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charles Irizarry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chi Coffman having to interfere. Renews's Chi Coffman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charles Irizarry in the 41st minute of play. In the 44th minute, Bondiss AFC's Wally Allred dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Renews's zone, Truman Hoskins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chi Coffman came out of the goal and Truman Hoskins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Danial McKay was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 54th minute. Renews's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Renews's Chi Coffman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charles Irizarry in the 59th minute of play. A collision led to Renews getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Shane Duff hit a great ball. Truman Hoskins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chi Coffman having to interfere. When Charles Irizarry came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Bondiss AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles Irizarry couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Truman Hoskins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bondiss AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Truman Hoskins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chi Coffman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Charles Irizarry sped through Renews's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Chi Coffman. Shane Duff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Numbers Summers having to interfere. Truman Hoskins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chi Coffman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Truman Hoskins's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. Renews's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
