Matt Reeder was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Ralph Lay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lemieux AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ralph Lay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matt Reeder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Trent Bourgeau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgar Dent stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Jed Hargrove managed to get in a good position for a shot. The supporters of Lemieux AFC booed when Sombra AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugues Lott didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Edgar Dent came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Lemieux AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Dent couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Lemieux AFC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Rayford Libby hit a great ball. Beau Harden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trent Bourgeau in the 66th minute of play. In the 75th minute, Trent Bourgeau ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Beau Harden was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 80th minute, Alvin Carlton made a precise shot to the right of Beau Harden. Lemieux AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvin Carlton in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Beau Harden prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Sombra AFC booed when Lemieux AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralph Lay didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute, Alvin Carlton made a precise shot to the right of Beau Harden. Lemieux AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Trent Bourgeau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sombra AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lemieux AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
