The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Sombra AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chimo:s goal. Francis Riquier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvin Carlton's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. If Alvin Carlton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee showed Brian Gaillou the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. Sombra AFC's Matt Reeder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robt Desruisseaux in the 42nd minute of play. Trent Bourgeau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trent Bourgeau was the one to do the kick off. Robt Desruisseaux's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matt Reeder read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Alvin Carlton came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Sombra AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvin Carlton couldn't finish the play. If Jarrod Kendall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matt Reeder came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Chimo's Baudouin Short. But to his dismay, Baudouin Short quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. If Jarrod Kendall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Chimo had won after a very even match.
