If Desmond Cox had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 6 minutes of play, Cumberland FC's Desmond Cox made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Émilien Sheppard was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Trent Krause in the 11th minute of play forced Cumberland FC's goalkeeper Lionel Stoddard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cumberland FC's Lionel Stoddard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trent Krause in the 13th minute of play. Rosendo Laux's late challenge caught a Cumberland FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rosendo Laux helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th minute, Rudolph Gagnon fired a really elegant long shot, but Émilien Sheppard threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Trent Krause recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd match minute, Goodlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geoffrey Christensen to maneuver through the defense. Lionel Stoddard didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trent Krause went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Trent Krause received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Lionel Stoddard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Desmond Cox fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Émilien Sheppard having to interfere. Émilien Sheppard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Rojas, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Trent Krause to make the kick off. Lionel Stoddard made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Loren Townsend sent off a good shot on target. Trent Krause recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute, Geoffrey Christensen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Cumberland FC's zone, Loren Townsend stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lionel Stoddard came out of the goal and Loren Townsend tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute, Zachariah Salazar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute Trent Krause shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lionel Stoddard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Benjamin Brodeur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cumberland FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamin Brodeur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Émilien Sheppard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reynaldo Rojas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 93 in the game by Loren Townsend from a close distance when the talented Lionel Stoddard managed to make a qualified save. Cumberland FC's players were relieved. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
