Ernie Pryor who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Lionel Stoddard when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Cumberland FC booed when Burr FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kim Webb didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Burr FC defense, Desmond Cox kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Douglas Gagné. The Burr FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Douglas Gagné should have stopped the shot. In the 22nd minute, Ernie Pryor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Reynaldo Rojas got free in front of the goal in the 28th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Douglas Gagné was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Reynaldo Rojas made a precise shot to the right of Douglas Gagné. Burr FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 33 played minutes Burr FC got a freekick which was hit by Adrien Talon. Douglas Gagné showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zachariah Salazar in the 37th minute of the match. Burr FC's Elisha Acosta got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Cumberland FC's Lionel Stoddard got control of the ball when Ernie Pryor tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Elisha Acosta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reynaldo Rojas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Elisha Acosta might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lionel Stoddard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elisha Acosta ran back to his position shaking his head. Cumberland FC's Lionel Stoddard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elisha Acosta in the 66th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cumberland FC's zone, Ernie Pryor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lionel Stoddard came out of the goal and Ernie Pryor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Douglas Gagné made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Rojas in the 70th minute of play. If Desmond Cox had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the match, Burr FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Rojas came free, but Douglas Gagné reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Elisha Acosta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Cumberland FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Rudolph Gagnon hit a great ball. Burton Dietz didn't quite understand what happened when in the 84 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. If Elisha Acosta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Benjamin Brodeur fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cumberland FC's protests and gave Benjamin Brodeur a yellow card for diving instead. Desmond Cox sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Burr FC's Adrien Talon got a free kick in the 95th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Desmond Cox could shoot a difficult shot in the 97th minute, which Douglas Gagné however easily saved by the left post.
