The supporters of Veteran booed when Edwardsville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dwain Cowan didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerardo Reeves in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Noe Yost saved Edwardsville from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arden Martinez in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucien Hardin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edwardsville were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Veteran's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Chance Saunders took the corner. Noe Yost made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thierry Shah in the 28th minute. 37 minutes into the game, Thierry Shah cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Noe Yost was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Arden Martinez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute of the match, Gerardo Reeves tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Noe Yost saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 48 minutes into the match, Gerardo Reeves dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Noe Yost, 2-0.

After having played for 57 minutes, Thierry Shah managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Veteran's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thierry Shah was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Edwardsville defense, Gerardo Reeves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Noe Yost. The Edwardsville fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Noe Yost should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arden Martinez in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucien Hardin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Noe Yost made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thierry Shah in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute Jarvis Richards shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucien Hardin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Veteran's Gerardo Reeves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Noe Yost made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 83rd minute Thierry Shah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noe Yost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Veteran's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jarvis Richards 85 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-1. Gerardo Reeves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Noe Yost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Noe Yost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Reeves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 97th minute by Jarvis Richards got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Veteran were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Edwardsville for a fine match.
