Montreal Impact's supporters rose to their feet, but Demetrius Schwartz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Earle Marion breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rene Denton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. In the 15th minute of the match Burl Lovett sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Earle Marion skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eddie Schulz in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Earle Marion prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eddie Schulz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Montreal Impact:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ituna AFC:s goal. Jarod Pina placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Montreal Impact's goalkeeper Hiram Blake, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gerardo Gregory blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hiram Blake having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Ituna AFC's zone, Eddie Schulz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Earle Marion came out of the goal and Eddie Schulz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Carmine Joly fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montreal Impact's protests and gave Carmine Joly a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 35 minutes, Rene Denton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ituna AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Denton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Demetrius Schwartz came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Montreal Impact fans jumped to their feet. In the 42nd minute Rene Denton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hiram Blake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Earle Marion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddie Schulz in the 48th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eddie Schulz was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Eddie Schulz suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Issac Christiansen during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ituna AFC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Issac Christiansen hit a great ball. Demetrius Schwartz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Earle Marion having to interfere. Elvin Loomis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Earle Marion having to interfere. Demetrius Schwartz took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Earle Marion. Earle Marion dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Hiram Blake stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gerardo Gregory's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Gerardo Gregory sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hiram Blake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Gregory in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute Rene Denton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hiram Blake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, Guy Déziel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rene Denton kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the game, Rene Denton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Hiram Blake was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Montreal Impact players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Ituna AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
