After a defensive mix-up in Edwardsville's zone, Sergio Cates stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noe Yost came out of the goal and Sergio Cates tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Keith Caballero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarvis Richards in the 8th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes Sergio Cates rounded Edwardsville's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Sergio Cates had several of the Edwardsville's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 18 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Noe Yost as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Sergio Cates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Calabogie's goal looked a bit too open when Arden Martinez came free, but Keith Caballero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sylvestre Holland got free with Noe Yost in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 41 minutes into the match, Edwardsville's goalkeeper Noe Yost had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sylvestre Holland. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergio Cates in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Noe Yost saved Edwardsville from getting behind. Sylvestre Holland might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Noe Yost. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sylvestre Holland ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 47 minutes, Arden Martinez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edwardsville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arden Martinez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Arden Martinez got free with Keith Caballero in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 56 minutes, Sergio Cates managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calabogie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergio Cates was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute, Roger Riquet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Sergio Cates managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calabogie's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Cates was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Noe Yost breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edwardsville's Noe Yost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Cates in the 65th minute of play. When Sergio Cates came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Calabogie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergio Cates couldn't finish the play. Calabogie's Sylvestre Holland got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Arden Martinez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sylvestre Holland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Noe Yost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sergio Cates scored 3-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Noe Yost, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Arden Martinez could shoot a difficult shot in the 87th minute, which Keith Caballero however easily saved by the left post. Edwardsville's Noe Yost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Cates in the 92nd minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Calabogie players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
