Darell Vernadeau acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 32nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jon Nix. After a rather tough play, Montreal Impact's Carmine Joly got a free kick in the 34th minute. Rod Rosa, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Darell Vernadeau made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Demetrius Schwartz sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eddie Schulz in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Darell Vernadeau saved Loco Locass Youth Team from getting behind. In the 49th minute, Diego Bonner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tony Thayer to make the kick off. If Tony Thayer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darell Vernadeau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddie Schulz in the 66th minute of play. If Eddie Schulz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Montreal Impact's Demetrius Schwartz got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Demetrius Schwartz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eddie Schulz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eddie Schulz in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Darell Vernadeau prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Demetrius Schwartz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montreal Impact's supporters rose to their feet, but Demetrius Schwartz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darell Vernadeau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Montreal Impact fans cheered their team off the field, for while Loco Locass Youth Team had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
