In the 7th minute, Whelan's Trent Hand seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Trent Hand the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Whelan protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Trent Hand had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Leclercville a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gustave Spears, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Whelan's Gerard Thomas. 1-0. If Geraldo Christian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Orval Montoya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicolas McCullough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Orval Montoya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Austin Simon having to interfere. The supporters of Leclercville booed when Whelan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baudouin Gifford didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orval Montoya was the one to do the kick off. Léonce Sawyer hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicolas McCullough during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Whelan getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Nicolas McCullough hit a great ball. Orval Montoya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Austin Simon having to interfere. When Roland Jean came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Leclercville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Jean couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Leclercville's Martin Ferrell got a free kick in the 70th minute. With a little luck, Leclercville's Austin Simon got control of the ball when Orval Montoya tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gerard Thomas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bobbie Jernigan's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Whelan's goal looked a bit too open when Bobbie Jernigan came free, but Gerard Thomas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Whelan's Gerard Thomas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Jean in the 87th minute of play. Bobbie Jernigan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Gerard Thomas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Roland Jean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
