After a rather tough play, Whelan's Trent Hand got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 14thth minute of the game Jody Faulkner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mississauga Warriors's Carlton Wells was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gerard Thomas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reynaud Huppé's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. If Salvatore Glenn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Whelan's Gerard Thomas got control of the ball when Salvatore Glenn tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 29 played minutes Whelan got a freekick which was hit by Raymundo Leon. Mississauga Warriors's Moises Rosas shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gerard Thomas but with some difficulty. Reynaud Huppé sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reynaud Huppé fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerard Thomas having to interfere. Salvatore Glenn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerard Thomas having to interfere. Trent Hand charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trent Hand the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of Whelan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mississauga Warriors:s goal. In the 46th minute Jody Faulkner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlton Wells saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Whelan's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Reynaud Huppé fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Orval Montoya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Salvatore Glenn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlton Wells showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jody Faulkner in the 66th minute of the match. Orval Montoya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th play minute Orval Montoya came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Carlton Wells. 1-1. Gerard Thomas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvatore Glenn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reynaud Huppé's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerard Thomas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Whelan's Orval Montoya slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlton Wells. That made the score 1-2 after 85 minutes of play. Whelan's Gerard Thomas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaud Huppé in the 92nd minute of play. Chants of Whelan echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Mississauga Warriors had held the ball for most of the match.
