The tension between the Edmonton Ice FC and the McClintock players grew even worse after the yellow card. 10 minutes into the match, Edmonton Ice FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmund Wu came free, but Vincenzo Keys reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmonton Ice FC's Vincenzo Keys played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diodore Davis in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute Pascal Lockhart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincenzo Keys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led McClintock's Ben Huynh to fire away a dangerous shot which Vincenzo Keys despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Bret Beauchemin made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmund Wu got free with Vincenzo Keys in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 57 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Edmonton Ice FC! Edmund Wu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Vincenzo Keys made a huge save. Vincenzo Keys made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmund Wu in the 67th minute. Vincenzo Keys made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Edmund Wu sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascal Lockhart in the 98th minute of play forced Edmonton Ice FC's goalkeeper Vincenzo Keys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chants of McClintock echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Edmonton Ice FC had held the ball for most of the match.
