The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roland Jean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rod Cooley having to interfere. Bobbie Jernigan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Boyd Alvarado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Edgar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Jean came free, but Rod Cooley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roland Jean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Rod Cooley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, Leclercville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustave Spears to maneuver through the defense. Leclercville's Bobbie Jernigan got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Edgar FC's zone, Bobbie Jernigan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rod Cooley came out of the goal and Bobbie Jernigan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arden Dupre was extremely unlucky when he, in the 27th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Roland Jean struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Rod Cooley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leclercville. If Arden Dupre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Leclercville's Bobbie Jernigan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rod Cooley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rod Cooley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Jean in the 43rd minute of play. Bobbie Jernigan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Rod Cooley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arden Dupre made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Leclercville's goal looked a bit too open when Boyd Alvarado came free, but Austin Simon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Edgar FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Javier Boucher hit a great ball. After 64 minutes Edgar FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gustave Spears who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Gustave Spears got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rod Cooley quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bobbie Jernigan in the 66th minute of play forced Edgar FC's goalkeeper Rod Cooley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daren Crum hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Bobbie Jernigan spun around in front of the goal 69 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Edgar FC's goal. In the 71stth minute of the game Bobbie Jernigan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Edgar FC's Rod Cooley was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arden Dupre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Austin Simon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Leclercville getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Patrick Cash hit a great ball. Boyd Alvarado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Austin Simon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arden Dupre in the 83rd minute of play forced Leclercville's goalkeeper Austin Simon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute, Monty McCord hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Neal Cooke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd match minute, Leclercville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gautier Dias to maneuver through the defense. Edgar FC's Teddy Larivière took a good shot, in the 93rd minute, which hit the crossbar above Austin Simon's head, and flew over the goal. Leclercville's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Edgar FC. Patrick Cash hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Boyd Alvarado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Austin Simon having to interfere. 99 minutes into the match, Arden Dupre had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Austin Simon. Leclercville's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arden Dupre was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Edgar FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Leclercville for a fine match.
