A very good chance. 10 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when NDG United's Hank Gustafson fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hank Gustafson in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Childress prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Mawer's Emon Rivers got a free kick in the 13th minute. Hank Gustafson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Peter Childress tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Naylor in the 16th minute of play forced Mawer's goalkeeper Peter Childress to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Childress took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hank Gustafson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 minutes, Emon Rivers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mawer and the NDG United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Horacio Jimenez struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Ignace Mullins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mawer. Mawer's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmond Ho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 39 minutes, Hank Gustafson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NDG United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hank Gustafson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, NDG United's Ollie Ingram got a free kick in the 44th minute. Mariano Crowell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Ignace Mullins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Mawer players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. NDG United were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hank Gustafson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Mawer's Peter Childress got control of the ball when Gregorio Naylor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ignace Mullins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Crowell in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute Hank Gustafson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Childress saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peter Childress made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Gregorio Naylor sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Mawer getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Emon Rivers hit a great ball. Edmundo Devine struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Ignace Mullins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. After 87 played minutes Mawer got a freekick which was hit by Horacio Jimenez. When Gregorio Naylor came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the NDG United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregorio Naylor couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched NDG United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
