Joaquin Ernst hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Gil Pichette was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Gregorio Naylor got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Ingonish FC booed when NDG United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmond Ho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute of the match Gil Pichette shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ignace Mullins showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Laurence Hamby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laurence Hamby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brett Spence made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gregorio Naylor in the 42nd minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hank Gustafson was the one to do the kick off. Brett Spence made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hank Gustafson in the 51st minute of play. Brett Spence didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gregorio Naylor went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Brett Spence took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hank Gustafson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Laurence Hamby could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Ignace Mullins however easily saved by the left post. After 67 minutes, Edmond Ho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NDG United and the Ingonish FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Christophe Lincoln received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Ignace Mullins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ingonish FC's goalkeeper Brett Spence, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gregorio Naylor struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Brett Spence didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NDG United. 89 minutes into the match, Ingonish FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gregorio Naylor came free, but Brett Spence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90thth minute of the game Gregorio Naylor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ingonish FC's Brett Spence was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 91st match minute, Ingonish FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keven Priest to maneuver through the defense. Gregorio Naylor took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brett Spence. Brett Spence dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The NDG United support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
