After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Odilon Trotter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arnot's supporters rose to their feet, but Odilon Trotter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Childress breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Horacio Jimenez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Aubé having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Odilon Trotter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Forest Hale in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Childress prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Forest Hale to strike the kick off in the second half. Mawer's Peter Childress played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Forest Hale in the 53rd minute of play. Federico Chauvin's late challenge caught a Mawer's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Federico Chauvin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Arnot getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Federico Chauvin hit a great ball.
