Spectators: 6722 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 0) Khartum's Earnest Labonté started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hank Gustafson in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sang Schmidt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 6 minutes into the match, Khartum's goal looked a bit too open when Hank Gustafson came free, but Sang Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 7 played minutes NDG United got a freekick which was hit by Charles Ratliff. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Naylor in the 10th minute of play forced Khartum's goalkeeper Sang Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gregorio Naylor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sang Schmidt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gregorio Naylor's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Earnest Labonté received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Ignace Mullins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 18 played minutes Khartum got a freekick which was hit by Teddy Desaulniers. Hank Gustafson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sang Schmidt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Gregorio Naylor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sang Schmidt having to interfere. When Gregorio Naylor came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the NDG United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregorio Naylor couldn't finish the play. In the 36th minute Earnest Labonté shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignace Mullins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Earnest Labonté in the 42nd minute of play forced NDG United's goalkeeper Ignace Mullins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hank Gustafson was the one to do the kick off. Gregorio Naylor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Sang Schmidt made a huge save. Khartum's Sang Schmidt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Khartum from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Tucker during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, NDG United's Christian Tucker got a free kick in the 69th minute. NDG United's Hank Gustafson got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 74 minutes, Erin Myles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Khartum and the NDG United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Hank Gustafson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sang Schmidt. That made the score 1-2 in the 77 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Earnest Labonté in the 82nd minute of play forced NDG United's goalkeeper Ignace Mullins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
