The referee ignored Arnot's protests and gave Federico Chauvin a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 played minutes Arnot got a freekick which was hit by Federico Chauvin. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Hank Gustafson came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the NDG United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hank Gustafson couldn't finish the play.

After a defensive mix-up in NDG United's zone, Forest Hale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ignace Mullins came out of the goal and Forest Hale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Odilon Trotter came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ignace Mullins could save by the left post. Thanh Jobin, 63 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ignace Mullins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Forest Hale in the 65th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, NDG United's Charles Ratliff got a free kick in the 65th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Troy Greenwood during the 69th minute. After taking down the ball on Arnot's corner Thanh Jobin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ignace Mullins quite easily take care of the ball. Gregorio Naylor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Troy Greenwood was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 88 minutes had been played. Odilon Trotter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ignace Mullins having to interfere.
