Lavern Rutherford was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Camille Binet came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Atherley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camille Binet couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Atherley booed when Smithville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Davies didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th match minute, Smithville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Léandre Beebe to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 28th minute by Garrett Giguère got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 29th match minute, Atherley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Cordero to maneuver through the defense. Isaac Foucault charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isaac Foucault the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Smithville getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. If Garrett Giguère had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Camille Binet left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atherley fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Lavern Rutherford didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Atherley's Camille Binet shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-3 in the ordered_time% minute. Lavern Rutherford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evan Dufour in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Garrett Giguère made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Derek Lincoln's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stacy Richmond was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. When Arden Rousseau fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Smithville's protests and gave Arden Rousseau a yellow card for diving instead. Arden Rousseau kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Atherley's Loic Leclerc couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 64th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Smithville. Camille Binet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lavern Rutherford having to interfere. When Derek Lincoln came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Smithville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Derek Lincoln couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Atherley's zone, Derek Lincoln stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stacy Richmond came out of the goal and Derek Lincoln tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Smithville fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Atherley were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
